Marianne McGurk is a fine art fashion photographer who uses 3-D design to create handmade objects, costumes and scenes referencing intrigue, surrealism and the fantastical.  Marianne’s work confronts the viewer with identities or in some cases the lack of, which brings intrigue, producing images which are fascinating and thought-provoking.

Marianne studied Fine Art Sculpture at Northumbria University until 2001 and then went on to travel the world twice, absorbing and being inspired by the sights and cultures of the globe.  More recently Marianne returned to higher education at the reputable Blackpool & the Fylde College, completing a B.A. Honours in Photography and graduating in 2011 with first class honours and an award for outstanding achievement.

This year she received a Judges Choice Award from the Association of Photographers Student Awards in the fashion & beauty singles category from Miranda Gavin, editor of Hotshoe International. Marianne’s work was also selected on the Source Photographic Review’s online graduate platform, which showcases emerging photographic talent by independent writer, lecturer and curator Susan Bright.

Marianne is now embarking on her career in creative photography, focusing on fashion and mixing this up with her personal work.
